Immediately upon the return of the student to school after a mental health crisis (e.g., suicide attempt or psychiatric hospitalization), it is required in many states and countries that a school-employed mental health professional meet with a student and their parents or guardians to discuss and document a re-entry plan. The following script will walk a team through the re-entry process and what would help to ease the transition back into the school environment.
