This circle is a helpful way to address a pattern of students being too rough or misusing school technology resources - slamming lids of computers, pounding on keyboards, etc.
As a general practice, most classroom circles should be focused on community building and regulation. Until a deeper level of trust is established within the classroom it isn't recommended to use classroom circles directly for harm repair or more vulnerable topics. When students are treating each other unkindly, it is recommended that you hold a smaller conference with only the students involved to repair relationships and prevent shaming. The focus of a classroom circle should be "unmet needs" rather than "harm." Use the following script to address ‘unmet needs’ without targeting one student.
