In most countries, schools are required to record responses to reports of bullying and harassment. Students should be taught and encouraged to report any harassment, intimidation or bullying.  There should be multiple ways for students to report (confidential drop box, texting tip line, tell a teacher, etc). Any school employee who observes or receives a report of bullying should report it within one school day to the principal or designee and keep this information confidential. Typically the school must take the following actions, whether or not the alleged bullying target files a complaint.  When you receive a bullying report, follow the 6 R’s Bullying Response:

Bullying Response Protocol
